All cylinders we sell are equipped with drilling protection. The SKG** cylinders are only equipped with drilling protection and the SKG*** cylinders are also equipped with anti-core pulling protection.
The drill protection ensures that drill bits break off or become blunt during attempted burglary. Without drilling protection, the pawls in the cylinder are drilled freely, as happens with many old locks.
A drilling protection is different from an anti-core pulling protection. An anti-core pull secured cylinder is secured just along the edge of the key entrance with two hardened square pins. An SKG** cylinder is susceptible to core pulling and is therefore only recommended to be used in combination with anti-core pulling fittings. If in doubt, order SKG*** cylinders and you are always in the right place.
